Bitcoin wallet guide

Use a receiving address from a wallet that supports Bitcoin on mainnet. LocalBTC accepts valid Bitcoin addresses, including legacy, SegWit and Taproot formats. Do not enter a Lightning invoice or an address for another network.

The form checks the network, encoding and checksum on the server. A valid format does not prove that an address belongs to you or that a wallet provider will credit a deposit. Copy the address from your wallet, then compare it carefully before accepting the contract.

You must control the receiving wallet or meet your wallet provider’s deposit requirements. LocalBTC never needs your private key or recovery phrase. Once a Bitcoin transfer is broadcast, an incorrect destination cannot simply be reversed.
